At the beginning of 1900 an old florentine diplomat chose the Chianti area as the place wlere to build a villa while he was about to finish his last task in Buenos Aires. This residence had to be the suitable place to keep relationships with the world which had belonged to him all his life. He finally decided for "Corte di Valle" on the main road to Florence. A few years before the famous architect Poggi had restored Florence which had to appear more gorgeous as the "Capital of Italy".Hos unique style characterizes all the important buildngs of the time and the villa at Corte di Valle followed the same stylistic canons in order to be up to illustrious guests. The other houses at the estate are typical of the farm settlements in the Chianti area. |
